John Pizzarelli is internationally known for his classic
standards,
late-night ballads and the cool jazz flavor he brings
to his performances.
His stunning wife Jessica sings like a
morning lark and possesses an equally intrinsic
feel for jazz
phrasing. Both bring a rare sense of discovery and keen sense
of humor to every song they sing. I could exhaust my list of
uperlatives describing how
Ms. Molaskey and Mr. Pizzarelli's
musical and comedic repartee sustains
an easygoing
sophistication that is unmatched.” – New York Times
We've reached our goal of inspiring one million people to volunteer a day of service to their communities, so the "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." program has now ended. About John Pizzarelli
John Pizzarelli has had a multi-faceted career as a jazz guitarist, vocalist and bandleader. Internationally known for classic standards, late-night ballads, and the cool jazz flavor he brings to his performances and recordings. Pizzarelli has been playing guitar since age six, following in the tradition of his father, guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli.
The Pizzarell trio is often compared to jazz icons such as Nat "King" Cole: "The John Pizzarelli Trio has never been tighter, and Pizzarelli himself has never been looser," said The Village Voice of a recent New York show. "We can say we're as lucky to listen to [Pizzarelli] as Nat Cole fans were in the years before he became a legend."
For Pizzarelli, the comparison to the Nat "King" Cole Trio is the highest of compliments. "I've always said in my concerts that Nat 'King' Cole is why I do what I do." Using greats like Nat "King" Cole and Frank Sinatra and the songs of writers like Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen as touchstones, Pizzarelli is among the prime contemporary interpreters of the great American songbook, bringing to the work his signature style and brilliant guitar playing.
With his recent CD release of Dear Mr. Sinatra, an homage to 'Ol' Blue Eyes,' Pizzarelli's album count now stands at 21, an odyssey that began with My Blue Heaven in 1990.
Pizzarelli recently launched a syndicated radio show where he and his guests play live and recorded music, and enjoy conversation that is relaxed, candid, and off-the-cuff. Recent guests include Regis Philbin, Liza Minnelli, Peter Cincotti, Keely Smith, Steve Tyrell and Tony Danza.
In addition to being a bandleader, radio personality and solo performer, John has been a special guest on recordings for major pop names such as James Taylor, Natalie Cole, Tom Wopat, Rickie Lee Jones and Dave Von Ronk, as well as leading jazz artists like Rosemary Clooney, Ruby Braff, Johnny Frigo, Buddy DeFranco, Harry Allen and, of course, Bucky Pizzarelli.
John has performed numerous times on the country's most popular national television shows such as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Show with David Letterman," "Live With Regis & Kelly," "The Tony Danza Show," and the "The CBS Early Show".
Pizzarelli continues to tour throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, performing classic pop, jazz and swing, while setting the standard for stylish modern jazz.

Jayme's Fund for Social Justice is pleased to host and announce the opening of the Speak Truth to Power exhibition at the Stockbridge Theatre Gallery, Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH.
Speak Truth to Power is the global human rights initiative founded by Kerry Kennedy and Nan Richardson, which brings people face-to-face with courageous human rights heroes. This multifaceted project presents inspiring stories of 51 women and men from over 40 countries who have stood up to oppression at great personal risk in the non-violent pursuit of human rights. The presentation chronicles the struggles of the human rights defenders, including the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, Elie Wiesel, Helen Prejean, and many other lesser known people who have been championing human rights the world over.
The Speak Truth to Power exhibition is based on the writings of Kerry Kennedy and the photographs taken by the renowned Pulitzer-prize-winning photojournalist Eddie Adams. The exhibition consists of a series of prints of dramatic portraits taken on location in four continents, wall text which employs quotations and excerpts from Kennedy's interviews of the human rights defenders, computer stations with website materials offering an interactive experience, and the PBS documentary film The Kennedy Center Presents: Speak Truth to Power.
The exhibition began its international tour in September 2000 at The Corcoran Gallery, Washington, D.C., traveling thereafter to venues throughout the United States and worldwide.
Speak Truth to Power is an unforgettable affirmation of the human spirit that is not to be missed!

Political Fair at Southern New Hampshire University, New Hampshire
October 12, 2006
Dylan, one of the founders of Lil' MDGs, represented Lil' MDGs at the Political Fair 2006 held at Southern New Hampshire University, New Hampshire. The fair was scheduled for Thursday, October 12th from 2-4 P.M. on the university Campus. The gubernatorial speeches were on from 3-3:30 P.M. from the candidates. The fair was largely attended by students and professors from SNHU; however, others schools and the general public were in attendance as well.
The event was a great success. It was a great networking opportunity; pamphlets and flyers about the past and current Lil' MDGs projects were distributed. Please find below photographs from the event.
On August 19th 2006 the Lil' MDGs held their first event fund-raiser for the year. The local event they joined was the Dunstable Grange Fair held each year in Dunstable, MA. Courtney Fillebrown, the Chief Operating Officer for Lil' MDGs. along with her sister Nina, mother and step-father worked the event raising money for the cause. Many people came from around Massachusetts to participate in an award contest at the Grange Fair and participate in an auction in the evening. During the sunny day and even in the rainy evening many people stopped in to the Lil' MDGs tent and learned about the exciting things we have been doing. They purchased hand crafted jewelry and crayons (specially designed by Courtney, Nina, and their mother) as well as "Life is good." mugs and T-shirts. Proceeds from the event will specifcally benefit Uganda AIDS Orphans School. This was the first of many events the group is planning to attend including craft fairs. Watch for our schedule. We hope to see you there!
