Lil’ MDGs is a non-profit founded in 2004 by three children with a common vision of helping youth around the globe work together toward the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The 2015 target date for achieving the eight MGDs - from halving extreme poverty to stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS - is rapidly approaching. In order to meet that target, Lil’ MGDs believes that it is crucial to unlock the power of the Internet to educate, engage, inspire and empower youth in every corner of the world. While children everywhere are concerned about global issues, many do not know how they can help. Lil’ MDGs’ passionate members, partners, and 100%-volunteer staff based in New Hampshire, US, are dedicated to providing youth with opportunities to get involved and have a direct impact on achieving these important goals.
Lil’ MDGs has engaged over three million children in 41 countries to make a tangible difference in the lives of over one million children worldwide. Lil’ MDGs currently has a regular volunteer base of 24,000-plus members strong and growing. With chapters in several US states and 41 countries, there’s always room for anyone who wants to help. Please feel free to explore this site to learn about our exciting projects, past, present, and future as well as opportunities to learn about the eight MDGs, raise awareness, join campaigns, and take action. |
